Lyon Richardson Elects Free Agency

Right-hander Lyon Richardson elected free agency after the Brewers outrighted him following a brief recall. The 26-year-old pitched in two games for Cincinnati and one for Milwaukee this season, compiling a 6.48 ERA across his career. Richardson, who is out of options, chose to pursue free agency rather than accept a minor league assignment, as he was unlikely to factor into Milwaukee's playoff plans. The former second-round pick will seek minor league offers during the offseason.
