Disrespect for Pat Murphy in 2026 NL Manager of the Year race makes no sense

The Milwaukee Brewers hold the best record in baseball at 85-53 as of September 1, already surpassing preseason projections of 80-82 wins with a month remaining and on pace for 100 victories. Manager Pat Murphy has guided the team to sustained success despite trading away ace Freddy Peralta and other key players during the offseason. However, in current betting odds for the NL Manager of the Year award, Braves manager Walt Weiss leads at +210 while Murphy sits second at +230, a ranking the article argues undervalues his accomplishment of exceeding expectations so significantly.
