Brewers once again await outcome of Padres-Cubs Wild Card series (with one key difference)

The Brewers will face the winner of the Padres-Cubs Wild Card Series in the NLDS for the second consecutive year, with games beginning Tuesday in San Diego. Unlike last year when the Cubs hosted as the top Wild Card seed, the Padres earned home-field advantage this year after a strong September finish and will host the best-of-three series at Petco Park. The Cubs face additional challenges heading into the series, having traveled from Chicago to Boston to Tampa to San Diego within five days due to weather disruptions, and they posted a 42-38 road record compared to 46-35 at home this season.
