Brewers' Double-A squad turns to top pitching prospect in 2026 postseason opener

The Brewers' Double-A affiliate, the Biloxi Shuckers, begin their Southern League playoff run tonight against the Pensacola Blue Wahoos, with top pitching prospect Bishop Letson starting the first game of the best-of-three series. The Shuckers earned their playoff spot by winning the South Division's first-half title in late June, marking their third consecutive postseason appearance. Letson, the organization's No. 8 overall prospect, has had an inconsistent 2026 season with a 4.85 ERA across 22 starts, but his elite mound extension allows his mid-90s fastball to play up effectively. The Shuckers' offense will be led by first-round 2025 draft pick Andrew Fischer, who hit 48 home runs this season, the most by any minor leaguer in the 21st century.
