Brewers Considering Moving Kyle Harrison To Bullpen

Kyle Harrison allowed six runs in 3 2/3 innings during the Brewers' 12-8 loss to Cincinnati, marking his second consecutive poor start after giving up nine earned runs against the Cubs on August 31. His ERA has climbed from 2.79 to 3.66 over these two outings, and manager Pat Murphy indicated the team is considering moving Harrison out of the rotation, possibly into a bullpen or middle-relief role once the team gets some rest during an upcoming off-day. Harrison's fastball has lost velocity and effectiveness since returning from a forearm injury in early August, with opposing batters improving their average against it from .201 to .305. The Brewers view fixing Harrison as important since he's projected to pitch in their playoff rotation.
