A’s Claim Drew Rom

The Athletics claimed left-hander Drew Rom off waivers from the Brewers, who had designated him for assignment over the weekend. Rom, 26, missed the entire 2024 season due to biceps and shoulder surgery but has pitched effectively in relief at Triple-A this year with a 2.20 ERA and 36.1% strikeout rate across 41 innings. The lefty has also appeared in 5 2/3 major league frames this season and still has one minor league option year remaining, giving Oakland additional bullpen depth and club control.
